The Pickleball Trip to Spain You've Been Searching For
You could visit Barcelona as a tourist. Or you could live it like a player. The Barcelona Pickleball Experience blends world-class pickleball coaching, real matches with Barcelona's local pickleball community, and the city's greatest cultural icons into five perfectly balanced days — with an English-speaking guide at your side and private transportation throughout. Our partner clubs feature indoor and/or outdoor courts depending on the weather — so every session and match is guaranteed.
This is not a generic tour with a court rental tacked on. Your on-court program is led by Ignasi de Rueda, multiple-time Spanish and European pickleball champion, together with Eleana Rodino of the Italian national pickleball team. Off the court, you'll wander the Gothic Quarter, stand beneath the towers of the Sagrada Família, ride up to Montserrat Abbey, and cook your own paella with a local chef.
Three pillars. One unforgettable week
Days 1 & 2 · Welcome, First Clinic & Gothic Barcelona
Day 1 · Monday, October 5. Land in Barcelona and settle into your 4-star hotel in the elegant Eixample district. In the evening, meet Ignasi, Eleana, and the coordination team at a welcome social: program overview, level groups, and your first new pickleball friends.
Day 2 · Tuesday, October 6. Morning clinic #1: level assessment and focused technical work — dinks, third shots, volleys, transitions — plus private corrections and your first paddle demo. In the afternoon, a 4-hour guided walk through El Born and the Gothic Quarter with entry to the Barcelona Cathedral, capped off by a traditional Catalan food experience.
Day 3 · Tactics Clinic, Gaudí & Matches with Locals
Day 3 · Wednesday, October 7. Morning clinic #2: doubles strategy, point construction, partner communication, and kitchen-line attack and defense.
In the afternoon, a guided Modernism route along Passeig de Gràcia with entries to Casa Batlló and La Pedrera (Casa Milà). As the sun sets, it's game time — social matches with Barcelona's local players, organized by level, with pro supervision and a professional photo shoot.
Day 4 · Montserrat & the BPE Tournament
Day 4 · Thursday, October 8. Private transport to Montserrat mountain and its thousand-year-old Abbey, perched among some of Spain's most dramatic peaks.
Then the main event: the Barcelona Pickleball Experience Tournament — travelers and local players, level-based brackets, group stage plus finals, consolation rounds, pro supervision, official group photo, and awards.
Day 5 · Final Clinic, Sagrada Família & Paella Farewell
Day 5 · Friday, October 9. A final on-court session: match-play situations, team competition, challenge games against Ignasi and Eleana, diplomas, and the souvenir giveaway drawing.
Midday, a dedicated guided tour of the Sagrada Família with entry included. Then a hands-on, 3-hour paella cooking class — food and drinks included — to toast five unforgettable days.
Made for Players — and the People Who Travel with Them
Whether you're a 3.0 club player hungry to level up or a 4.5 competitor chasing new opponents, training groups are organized by skill level, so every drill, match, and tournament bracket fits your game.
Traveling with a partner who doesn't play? The Non-Playing Companion package (€1,950) includes the full cultural program — every tour, ticket, transfer, and food experience — plus spectator access while you're on court.
